The League of Women Voters will provide Wiki Wiki drive-through voter registration today at three locations on the Big Island.
The nonprofit will offer the service from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. today at the Kona Safeway parking lot, Hawaii County Building parking lot in Hilo and Pahoa Malama Market parking lot. Today is the deadline to register to receive a ballot via mail to vote in the Nov. 3 general election.
Persons registering to vote must provide a Hawaii State driver’s license or Hawaii State ID. For more info, call County of Hawaii Elections Division at 961-8277.
Ballots for the general election will be mailed out on Wednesday. They may be mailed back or delivered between Oct. 14 through Nov. 3 at one of the nine drop box locations around the island.
Drop boxes will be open 24 hours a day at the Waimea Police Station, Rodney Yano Memorial Hall, Pahoa Police Station, Naalehu Police Station, West Hawaii Civic Center, Hilo County Building, North Kohala Police Station and Laupahoehoe Police Station.
In-person voting will be available at the voter service centers located at Aupuni Center in Hilo and West Hawaii Civic Center Monday through Saturday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. starting Oct. 20 through Nov. 2.
On Election Day, which is Nov. 3, the voter service centers will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Voters who missed today’s voter registration deadline will be able to register and vote at the service centers.
